Grounded
I don't know why I feel the need to live on the edge, but I must.
Take this morning for instance. I wake up and have a split second of peace until I realize it's light out and it shouldn't be. My alarm was set for 4:45.
But it is 6:27 am.
That can't be right, my flight leaves at 7:00 am for LA I can't still be in bed...
But it is right and so I stall for another second thinking it is futile to even dream of catching the flight but I throw my clothes on, dump the rest of the stuff I had to pack into my bag and ran out the door. I made record time to the St. George Airport, green lights and no traffic, and landed at the ticket desk at 6:55 but to no avail. I could see the plane sitting outside being loaded but the gate was already closed so I remained calm (what else would I be?) and got myself on standby for the next flight in a few hours. Goooooodness. I'm fast, but I can't bend time.
Oh and the stinkin alarm? I haven't looked at it yet (we're in a fight) but I can only assume that in my sleep deprived stupor last night I set it for pm instead of am... blast. It is one one of those age old stories where I ignored the nagging thought of 'set a second alarm' and went to bed instead.

We were thinking about you saying, "Well, Jenna will be boarding the plane right now." Too bad we didn't call to wake you up earlier!
Mom
Ah, now we have to wait even longer to see you! It's okay, we can fix it!
Well, Uncle Serge checked the plane loads and he says that you should be able to get on easily since there are only 14 people this afternoon scheduled for that flight. Just don't be late!!! You are a SA's dream!! (Space Available)
In the words of Homer Simpson, "DOH!"
It makes for a great story!! Where you are going is worth the wait, right?
Exhibit 111:
Hags don't miss flights. Hags arrive 4 hours before their flight, floss popcorn fragments from their teeth in the terminal, then read Danielle Steele as they are boarding.

She made it, she made it!
