summit

It has been a gorgeou rainy day here. I just went out to count snails. 11 just on the stairs. I decided to get them together for a group shot.
Oh my heck. I need to get out more don't I?
I just finished 'Breaking Dawn'. Loved it. Who's with me? She needs to write more. More I say.

my private blog friends

I messed with my account and lost access to all your lovely blogs. If you would be so kind and send me an invite again I would love it! I'm feeling deprived...

source room

My corner of the office. When the three of us are here I hang around the source room and work from there so I can stay out of the way and enjoy my piece of space.

I like it in there. Smells like fabric, carpet samples and leather.

I got tagged the other day by Sioux. I thought I'd take a day to think of some unusual things to tell you about myself that you don't already know....

...I'm stumped. In her instructions it specifically said these things can't be known unusual things so I can't list things like I can't do a cartwheel, whistle, or swim more than a looks like I'm drowning dog paddle. These aren't unusual, just pathetic.

I can't tell you I crave kimchi and prefer it over almost anything else given the choice. I eat graham crackers and peanut butter with my cereal on occasion. Pretty much I just love food and think about eating a lot. I rue the day my metabolism slows down to a normal rate.

I can't tell you I like bugs and think it's a special day when I happen across snails or grasshoppers.

What can I tell you that you don't already know??

I can figure out where a plot is going in a movie or book almost too quick. It's a thrill sometimes to read on and find that I was right, but sometimes I wish I could be surprised and think it is the coolest when I am.

Maybe I'll do what she did, ask you to tell me what is unusual about me? It feels a little weird: 'let's talk about me' But maybe you'll help me see that I do have more unusual-ness than I am aware of since I think my irregularities are not all that irregular.

I'm supposed to tag 6 of you but seeing how I'm already breaking all kinds of rules to this game and my 15 minutes to blog are up, I'm going to let you tag yourselves. Sorry for not playing by the rules.

AUH! something unusual: I rarely play by the rules.

pardon my absence

did you think I was following my brother's example and going biannual on posting entries? I've thought about it.
There has been plenty to share with you here but finding the time, or more honestly, the desire to make the effort of posting something, has been the hard part. My heartfelt apologies.

Getting this picture was fun. Lots of laughing, but would you expect anything less from this group? We made a girls trip to the Temple before Vicky went home last week. Here we are {sans Craig, he took the picture} at the Green Show in Cedar City before seeing Cerino de Bergerac. {fantastic play!} Sarah and Craig came to dinner with us. If you are ever in Cedar and like sushi I highly recommend Ninja. I know you probably know what is coming next:
I miss St. George terribly.

But I wouldn't have my amazing job there or the opportunity to go to school so I'll just suck it up and visit often.

welcome home!

Just another quiet weekend around here.....
NOT!!! This is the crowd at the airport anxiously awaiting the arrival of our very own South Africa returned missionaries.
When they arrived we celebrated in true form with tears and hugs all around.
SOOO great to have them home!!!
Some may say I'm a horrible daughter because I ditched out and went to the Brian Reagan comedy show. My reasoning behind this was the folks had been up some 30+ hours, they had to crash sometime, I might as well go laugh up a lung!
So here we are, Becky n I, at the Brian Reagan show. And laugh we did. I don't recall ever laughing until I sobbed before.
Oakley, Utah
My long time friend Jake got married saturday to the beautiful Peri.

It was really great having the old crowd back together. {missed ya Colin n Kelsey} They see each other pretty frequently, but that might be because they all subscribe to the 'married club. So it was really fun for me to see them and see my friends 'prospering' as Clarissa put it.

Drew. Sporting Jordan's of course. If I only saw the shoes and had to pick what friend this little guy belonged to, it wouldn't take another thought: Seth. We need more excuses to get all of us together, a wedding a year just doesn't cut it for me.

glimpses

glimpses of where I've been while I haven't been blogging.

I'm not blogging at work. I'll give you a real tour someday. This is a view of my desk from the lobby. Whoever designed the building had a theme in mind: checkered. The lobby, the signage, the building itself is yellow and green checkered. {it not as bad as it sounds} Aubrey's office is beautiful. Just wait, I'll show you more later.

nor am I blogging while I draft.

This is my drafting final taped up all over my walls so I can keep it from smudging or crinkling. It drives me crazy when the corners come untapped because the fodder rustles in the wind of the fan. It sounds... sneaky. It also drives me crazy that my room is cluttered and my laundry is piling up. But I rather play with Vicky and Grandma and draft until my eyes cross than worry about what my room looks like. {this is HUGE if you know me at all. I'm a bit of a fanatic when it comes to the cleanliness of my room and this carefree me will only last as long as I have vellum hanging from my beautiful blue walls.}

OK, back to it, just wanted to say hey! and let you know I'm still alive and kickin.

loving list

Haven't done a {loving list} lately. There is much to be loved.

10 days until the folks are home!

much less than that and I'll be done with another semester!

snails on the front porch. Really, I'm a snail lover. An advocate actually. So what if they eat your garden? They leave pretty trails on the cement and are just so dang funny. {ask Vickers, I do a mean impression of a snail}

My sunglasses. They went flying off my head on the swings at Lagoon over the weekend and by the time the ride was over I was resigned to the fact that they were going to be next to impossible to find. But I hopped off hopeful and there they were, right next to the railroad track. I have been loving them extra just for being here.

Oh yes, my new job. OF COURSE! It feels so good to be in my element again. I've been doing all kinds of things and already feeling a big difference in how good it is to go to a job where I have potential. It might be something like osmosis? Just soaking in good designerly stuff just by being in the presence of greatness.

I guess I should include that I'm loving my other job. Yes, two jobs for now. Pier 1. Just for the heck of it until Fall Semester starts. Discount anyone?

Here is a crazy thing to love about today. Three years ago today I got married. It didn't throw me for a loop like it did last year. I don't know when it happened but I only have good feelings toward Weston now. So when I realized what day it was, {only a couple hours ago, almost made it the whole day without noticing!} I felt something close to gratitude for the experiences we had together. This is definitely something I'm loving. It shows progress.

rice cakes. There is something so satisfying about the way they crunch. Not to worry that I'm eating them to be healthy. I add a nice layer of peanut butter to them just to make it extra awesome.
